Malcolm Ross With The Magic Clan
& The Delancey Street Group
The Bus Stop Label
1995 (US Release)
I was lucky to get to be in both The Magic Clan AND The Delancey Street Band, for this recording anyway. I was living on Delancey Street and we rehearsed on Delancey as well, in the basement of a chino/latino Karaoke Sports Bar where I booked shows on wednesday nights. I got to play guitar, bass and sing a duet with Malcolm on Gene Clarks "Tried So Hard". Half the record was recorded in Brooklyn at Mark Spencer's Tape Kitchen with the indie all-star rhythm section of Ex Go-Betweens bassist Robert Vickers and Ex Orange Juice drummer Steven Daly and half with Edwyn Collins in London with the Josef K rhythm section, David Weddell and Ronnie Torrance.
